Sign Change.org petition on Sec 2706

February 11, 2014

There is a petition up on Change.org regarding Sec 2706 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) written by California state resident, Stephanie Taylor, who has been denied access to midwifery during her pregnancy by her insurer. In response Stephanie created this petition to insurers and legislators in California (and likely, to the CA Insurance Commissioner) to let them know they need to follow the law and not discriminate. Section 2706 is titled “Nondiscrimination in Health Care” and requires that insurers include and reimburse licensed health care providers in health insurance plans.

Click on the link below to go to Change.org and view Stephanie Taylor's petition. Consider signing it and passing it on! The Integrative Healthcare Policy Consortium (of which NCH is a Partner organization) is working to reach the consumer/patient about the spirit and intent of Section 2706. This is one example of a consumer taking on the issue of non-discrimination in healthcare in a very personal way.

Thank you your interest in and commitment to integrative healthcare in the US!
