Reminder! Homeopathy Today in Bulk 2015 Bulk Subscriptions of Homeopathy Today Homeopaths Respond to Ebola - Update Unfortunately our promised update on this topic is that there will likely not be any updates to provide. Our sources have reported that due to political and bureaucratic obstacles, efforts to provide in-person homeopathic treatment to victims of the Ebola epidemic have been unsuccessful to date. Some individuals and teams are still actively trying to gain permission and access to treat patients with homeopathy. However, permission to do so has still not been granted at Ebola treatment centers. According to Flu Solution, Dr. Jacob Mirman and Sally Tamplin’s group of volunteer homeopaths are still offering free distance consultations to anyone that is in touch with Africans who are sick with this disease. The site also states that they continue to work towards the broader aim of discovering the genus epidemicus (remedy or remedies that can be used as a prophylactic to this disease). |

Homeopathy for Heart Health
What Potency Should I Use? One of the longest running and perplexing questions in homeopathy has always been "what potency does one use in a given situation?" The shortest answer to that has not changed much over the past 200 years—"use the lowest potency that will lead to a curative effect, without significant adverse effects." This is a wonderful, albeit impractical answer for both the beginner and the experienced practitioner. The longer answer requires a bit of background and several guidelines will help you choose a good potency for a given situation. Read the full article. Pet Owners Increasingly Turn to Holistic Medicine Holistic veterinarian, Dr. Marcie Fallek, has seen it many times. A desperate pet owner brings in a very sick or dying animal and pleads for help while explaining how conventional medical treatments have cost a fortune and failed. "I do my best but obviously I could do a whole lot more for them if they came in before the crisis, not after," explains Dr. Fallek. "If I could start holistically with them when they're still puppies and kittens, we'd be way ahead of the game." Read More about how homeopathy plays a significant role in Dr. Fallek’s practice here. You have the opportunity to see Dr. Fallek in person at the 2015 Joint American Homeopathic Conference presenting on the Veterinary Homeopathy panel. TxOptions Scholarship Program TxOptions has announced its 7th annual Joint American Homeopathic Conference Scholarship Program. In this series we glean some Winston Wisdom by revisiting Julian’s outline of this masterpiece. The concept of vital force and its relation to disease (#19-#21):
Note: The above is only an outline. To comprehend The Organon in its fullness, we recommend that you read the book. |

Placebo-controlled Trials of Individualized Homeopathic Treatment Homeopathic medicines can be prescribed in a number of different ways, but most homeopaths agree that individualized treatment of patients is the most effective method. Yet, for research purposes this methodology poses the greatest challenge, firstly because a wide variety of homeopathic medicines can be prescribed for a set of patients with a similar diagnosis; and secondly, because the detailed case-taking involved gives rise to there being an inevitable effect on the patient from the therapeutic encounter, often referred to as the 'placebo effect'. The 'placebo effect' has been consistently used and misused by homeopathy's critics to explain any success shown from homeopathic treatment. This highly rigorous systematic review's conclusions, while being very conservative, are therefore significant in that they conclude that prescribed homeopathic medicines may have specific treatment effects over and above any potential 'placebo effect'. Those who practice individualized homeopathy know from experience that placebo effects are short-lived, and only when the correctly chosen medicine acts successfully do long-term treatment benefits for patients ensue. This study is an important step forward in evidencing the daily experience of homeopaths and their patients that correctly prescribed homeopathic medicines work. Stories of Inspiration When traveling we left our dogs with friends who seriously indulged them with goodies and treats. The schnoodle came home constipated and miserable. One dose of Nux vomica 30c set him right within a very short time. Our dogs haven't seen a vet since they were neutered and always respond beautifully to homeopathic treatment. - Jess deSilva of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada We LOVE to hear how our members are using homeopathy at home and we hope you will share 'Your Homeopathy Story' with us! Everyone’s story is different and we want to know how you use homeopathy in your life! Learn how to share one of your stories with NCH. |

Homeopathic Treatment of the Acute Dental Abscess February 9, 2015, 8:00pm – 9:00pm ET A thorough homeopathic history generally reveals the correct remedy prescription, but what questions should you ask? By understanding the natural history of dental disease and what influences that history, one can better predict what state the pulp/nerve tissue is undergoing thereby improving the accuracy of the prescription. The dental homeopathic books available on the market are all cookbook style set-ups that do not reflect clinical presentation. Many of the necessary remedies do not even get mentioned under the various conditions. Too many patients present with homeopathic prescriptions for their dental complaints, or before their dental work, that is incorrect because of a lack of understanding of dental disease and its etiology. First an understanding of dental/tooth pathology will be reviewed, followed by a number of cases to illustrate some of the various presentations that may be encountered. Discussions will include history taking, remedy selection, posology and follow-up. Presented by Dr. Gary Fortinsky. This webinar is free, but available only to current NCH members. Register today!

Your friend's 4 year old stepson has arrived for the summer from the west coast. He seems very happy to have come and adapts very well to his 'east coast' family. Within a day, he developed a sore throat (which had happened identically on the last three visits). With further inquiry, you find out he is missing his mother. What remedy would you give him to clear up the sore throat?
If you have a “Case Quiz” to share, send it to us at info@homeopathycenter.org. We love to feature cases submitted by our community members! |
