How to Comment to The US Department of Health and Human Services

Please review NCH's comments to The US Department of Health and Human Services

The US Department of Health and Human Services recently issued a draft report on the state of treatments for pain management, Pain Management Best Practices: Updates, Gaps, Inconsistencies, and Recommendations and invited public comment. Notably, the report calls for individualized, patient-centered pain management and includes Complementary and Integrative Health approaches in its recommendations.  The Report is the result of a two-year-long Task Force mandated by the 2016 CARA Act.

The NCH Public Policy and Advocacy Committee has reviewed the report and has submitted extensive comments on the Report.  It is linked here for your information.  If members, as individuals, would like to submit comments to the HSS, you are encouraged to read the NCH response and use it as a guide. Comments will be recorded in the Federal Registry. This is an opportunity to have a strong voice in patient-centered, whole-person integrative pain management care.
